There are so many habits you can build and hands-on activities that you can use with your child at home to positively impact their language development at home - they spend the most time with you, after all! In the Let's Talk Speech Coaching App, we provide you with these tools and help equip you to help your child at home.
Every child is different, and there is no "magic number" for the amount of time that you'll start seeing progress. That being said, we find that most users start seeing progress relatively quickly: usually in about 3 months when you incorporate our structured practice into your routine for at least 30 minutes twice per week.
Not to worry - these are later developing sounds. If your child is between the ages of 0-3, your child may be approximating these sounds at this time. We'll teach you more about this within the app!
You can use the Hand over Hand technique for receptive language tasks when this happens, and adapt your technique based on how your child responds. We'll teach you exactly how to do this within the app. Most importantly, remember to keep it fun!
If you're noticing this happening during a structured activity with your child, continue to model and make sure your child is looking at you for a visual cue. You can start by modeling just the initial sound of the word, and then work up to shaping the entire word. We'll teach you exactly how to start small and progress to whole words within the app.
Yes! Your doctor can assess hearing and also check for chronic fluid and/or chronic wax build up that could be affecting their ability to hear, which in some situations can impact language development.
This app is not meant to replace speech and language therapy for your child. Rather, it is meant to be used as a supplemental resource to help you give your child the best possible support during their time outside of therapy, at home.
Your child learns a lot about language at daycare, in speech and language therapy, and in other settings. However, they spend by far the most amount of time with you, in your home! Every moment is a potential learning opportunity. Our app will help show you how to maximize your child's language potential by teaching you how to actively build their skills throughout every single day.
No! With a Course Content + Coaching Subscription, you have on-demand help available from a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist right from within the app.
If you don't want a coaching subscription, you can purchase the course content alone for a one-time fee of $99 USD. Note that when you purchase the Course Content Only option, you will not have access to our community features or on-demand support from a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
If you're feeling confident about your child's language and are ready to terminate your subscription, you can do that at any time by navigating to My Profile > Account Settings > Manage your plans within the app. Your subscription will still be available until the end of your current billing cycle.
If you're interested in ongoing on-demand support from a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, the Course Content + Coaching Plan will be best for you. If you would prefer to only purchase the course, and do not want community support or professional feedback on your questions, the Course Content Only plan may be right for you.
